Hannah Wilder

Graduated 2019

“Tis I, Hannah The Outstana (as dubbed by Ms. Barbie). Currently, I live in Berlin and spend most of my time performing, writing, community organizing, and dancing or cooking with my friends. Lately, I've been balancing art and activism without conflating the two (very Nicholas Roerich if I do say so myself.) I have been attending, stewarding, and organizing many protests … among other actions (cough cough.) Additionally, I have been lecturing on arts and activism, at the Sorbonne and Antiuniversity London. I’ve been using art for fundraising. I organized a club night at The Post Bar in London featuring poetry, short films, pole dancers, drag artists, comedians, and DJs to raise money for the Trans Legal Clinic. In Berlin, I sold over 1,000 euros worth of screen prints to raise money for the Gaza Biennale and am currently working on a sculpture for a fundraiser for Al Jawad Camp. I am making new connections as a member of König drag’s cast, Babylon Theater's RHPS shadow cast. I have been keeping in touch with friends I made in San Antonio while at the Circle School and from Say Sí.

The Circle School has taught me about community, shaping my every life decision, including moving back to Berlin where I have a tight knit support system of zany characters who joke, potluck, protest, and create together. Some of my favorite Circle School memories are of potlucks and parties at Festival of Lights, Circle Fest, coffee houses and IFF, all events I spend my days attempting to recreate. I am so grateful for memories I have of being chased around the playground by Mr. Joel, practicing improv with JJ, eating way too much space ice cream at future city competitions with Ms. Sarah, and running down the street with questionably sourced balloons to get to the AIDs center with Ms. Terry. Can't wait to come back and bother y’all.”
