Administrator

Education Administrator
 
core characteristics And daily responsibilities 
  • Energetic, flexible, resourceful, collaborative, and motivated 

  • Must be a self-starter, resourceful and promote the mission of The Circle School

  • Responsible for the safety and well being of all of the children in the school 

 

Education Staff Support

  • Ability to communicate effectively to help teachers feel supported, collaborative,&  safe.

  • Establish and maintain a positive staff environment while building an effective working relationship with all staff members.

  • Develop and/or plan for new teacher orientation and ongoing Professional Development for all teachers that supports ongoing professional and personal growth.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; including the ability to provide feedback, perform supervisory duties, and facilitate disagreements in a healthy way.  

  • Supervises and oversees teaching staff and provides classroom observations that facilitate teacher reflection and growth.

  • Provides reflection supervision to teachers through 1-on-1’s and team meetings.

Student Support

  • Engage with students across a range of ages during school wide gatherings such as daily story circle and preparing for annual performances & events.

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to evaluate student growth and development; including drafting student support plans, update plans as needed, and communicate with all stakeholders consistently.

 

Federal Programs & Support

  • Federal funds management

    • Title I - Student academic support 

    • Title II - Professional Development

    • Title IV - Student Success

 

Board & Co-op Support

  • Ability to work in a Cooperative school environment with significant parental involvement

  • Budget Management: Supplies and Textbooks.

  • Facilitate field trips and campus visitors through communication with the Co-op Field Trip Coordinator  and providing scheduling/campus information.

  • Balance work week between on campus commitments and evening/weekend co-op activities (i.e. board meetings, committee work, school events).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience teaching a range of elementary or middle school age children and curriculum

  • Certification and training (e.g. college degree) in Education or related field

  • Excellent communication skills -- including written communication 

  • Experience in alternative education

  • Relevant experience of 5-7 years.

Offer:

  • One Year (with potential renewal).

  • Traditional school year program coinciding with public school calendar; plus summer planning and support which includes 3 weeks working on campus for camp programs.

  • 40 hours a week, including time spent in evening meetings and weekend commitments. Scheduled work-from-home periods may be included in the work week.

  • Small community school, with small class sizes

 

Compensation & benefits:

  • Base Salary $37,000 - 42,000 and is based on education & experience

  • Year round pay

  • The school pays the base medical premium at 80% of the teacher premium and 20% for dependents.

  • Affordable dental and vision coverage available

  • Optional retirement savings

  • Holiday bonus

  • Potential stipends may be available

  • Reduced tuition for employee's children (subject to classroom availability)

The Circle School is a private, non-profit, family cooperative preschool and elementary school.   Our mission is to cultivate the whole child to become an impactful citizen of the Earth.

We are located at 217 Pershing Ave., San Antonio, Texas (south of Hildebrand between Broadway & N. New Braunfels, near the Witte Museum -- please see the map below).
