Barbie has over 30 years of teaching experience and is Montessori certified. She began her association with The Circle School as a parent in 1991. She currently teaches the youngest children at our entry level. Barbie also teaches a rotation titled "Who's Celebrating" that focuses on the religious or cultural celebrations occurring each week in our world. Barbie is on The Core Team of the peaceCENTER and the co-founding Director of the Tri-Faith Dialogue of San Antonio. She also serves on the Inter-religious Council and the Mayor's Commission United San Antonio. Barbie has received two local peace awards for her community service.

Cindy graduated from the University of Southern Illinois in Edwardsville with a Bachelor of Science in Social Work. In 2001, she became Montessori certified to teach infants to 3-year-olds. She has had six years in the classroom, and for four of those years she was the lead/main teacher. Cindy has taught at Keystone Montessori, Deerfield Montessori and First Circle Schools in Chicago. In the summer of 2007, she moved to Texas and is now happily teaching in the preschool program at The Circle School. Cindy is also involved in her church community at the First Unitarian Universalist church, where her husband, Bret, is the minister.
Jason graduated from the University of California at Berkley with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and then moved to Texas. He completed a teaching certification program through Region 20. Jason spent 11 years teaching in a Head Start preschool. Jason started teaching at The Circle School in the fall of 2004. He now teaches the older children in our preschool program. Jason is also a writer, poet and organizer for the San Antonio Puro Slam.
Dean teaches the children in our kindergarten program and provides lessons to all children in Spanish and science. Dean has four years experience teaching kinder/1st, three years teaching art to pre-kinder through 8th-grade students, and one year teaching Spanish. Originally from Great Britain, he has lived in Texas for over 13 years. Dean earned a Bachelors of Fine Art from Loughborough College of Art and Design in Leicestershire, Great Britain. His interests include English, French and Russian literature; writing; painting; music; philately; entomology; and traveling. Dean is also a freelance writer who recently completed his first novel and has been traveling to China.
Cynthia earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Central Texas and a Masters of Education from National-Louis University in Evanston Illinois. She has over 11 years experience teaching at various levels. Cynthia currently teaches children who are at an early elementary level. She also provides reading and step classes for all students. Cynthia is very involved in the community through various organizations.
